1992 Public Review Draft

spacer

NPS prepared a draft of Acadian Culture in Maine during 1992. Approximately 300 copies of the public review draft were distributed in early 1993. Comments about the draft from Valley residents, community scholars, and cultural professionals were collected and are reflected in the present document. New data was also collected and added to the 1992 public review draft. For instance, the folklore archivist at the Centre d'études acadiennes, Université de Moncton, prepared a history of early Acadia and Maine Acadian settlement, incorporating current scholarship. The gathering of other planning data incorporated into the draft is described in following sections.
